Surath Godfrey is a singer and song writer, who was born in Sri Lanka and lives in Singapore.
To anyone who meets him, he may seem an extremely laid back quiet individual, in all forms reserved and refined. There's a difference however, when it comes to music, where he enthralls audiences with his expressive, husky and emotion-laden voice.
Godfrey's love for music was born through influence and inspiration from his father, who taught him his first notes at the tender age of 6. His devotion and commitment to music grew with the accolades he received from various talent competitions while schooling in Sri Lanka.
At the age of 19, Godfrey began another chapter in his life by moving to Singapore for his university education at the National University of Singapore. Currently, he performs at popular live music venues in Singapore such as Timbre, Balaclava, Wala Wala, Muddy Murphy's as well as many regular guest performances while doing a day job.
After much encouragement from his friends and followers both in the Singapore pub scene and his popular YouTube video of "When You Love Someone – Bryan Adams" (over 1 Million views) Godfrey has taken his music to the next step by working on his own songs. His first EP is expected to be released soon.
